The Gophers hockey team played great this weekend, as usual, for the "Let's Play Hockey" festivities across the state on Minnesota. The Gophers beat the Sioux on Friday 5-1, but weren't as lucky on Saturday as they rallied to tie UND 4-4 at Mariucci Arena. Nate Condon , who had five points on the weekend, netted the game-tying goal. The three points finally put the U on top of the WCHA in first place tied with St. Cloud State with 22 points apiece. The Gophers are 17-3-4 overall and 9-3-4 in the conference.
The University of Minnesota still will rule the college hockey universe into next week as both No. 1 ranked Golden Gopher men's and women's team swept their WCHA series. What a great weekend for hockey!
