For the first in five years, Minnesota is getting ready for the league playoffs as the top seed in the WCHA. As the WCHA regular season champion, the Gophers will take the McNaughton Cup into their best-of-three first-round series against Alaska Anchorage next weekend.
The Seawolves swept the Gophers in Minnesota last season, sealing a third straight year missing the NCAA tournament.
The six winners of the first round will advance to the WCHA Final Five, held March 15-17 at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.
Congratulations to the Minnesota Gophers Men's hockey team for being the WCHA Champs and gaining the top seed in the WCHA playoffs!
