Gophers Will Face Syracuse in Texas Bowl

Just as the experts predicted, the University of Minnesota Gopher football team has accepted an invitation to play Syracuse in the 2013 Texas Bowl. The Texas Bowl will be played on Dec. 27 at Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas. The game is scheduled for a 5 p.m. kickoff. The game will be televised nationally by ESPN.

This will be the Golden Gophers' 16th overall postseason bowl appearance and second straight under third-year coach Jerry Kill. The Gophers also played in the Texas Bowl last year in 2012, but were not successful.
